The Local Police of València have arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of a sexual assault on a woman outside a nightclub in the Malva-rosa beach area. Two officers prevented the rape just before it occurred and were assaulted by the suspect.

The events took place in the early hours of this Sunday in front of a nightclub near Malva-rosa and the Civil Guard barracks located in this area, according to Levante-EMV and confirmed by Local Police sources to Europa Press.
The attempted rape took place in an alley
According to the information published by the mentioned newspaper, the attempted rape took place in an alley, by a 23-year-old man on a 50-year-old woman, and was recorded by the barracks’ cameras. A group of young people alerted the Local Police, after which two officers intercepted the attacker in flagrante and managed to prevent the assault.
The suspect tried to break free and was arrested for sexual assault and resisting authority, as the police officers suffered injuries to the head, neck, arms, and legs while trying to restrain him.
Meanwhile, the victim fled and was later attended to by the Local Police’s abuse care group (GAMA).
