Apple announced Monday the appointment of John Ternus, senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, as its next chief executive officer. Ternus, with a long career in the hardware sector, will lead the company after Tim Cook’s departure scheduled for September, as the iPhone maker prepares for an industry transformation driven by artificial intelligence.
