A young man died early this Tuesday very close to Menorca airport after being run over by a taxi. The accident occurred around five in the morning and just a few meters from the terminal, on a curve located next to the bus parking lot, where the victim was lying on the road.

According to the Local Police, the young man (originally from Barcelona and who was on vacation in Menorca with his family) was practically imperceptible to drivers due to his position on the road. The taxi driver involved in the accident tested negative (0.0) in the breathalyzer test.
After the impact, the vehicle dragged the body several meters before it could stop. Upon the arrival of emergency services, the SAMU 061 medical team found the victim under the taxi. Despite resuscitation attempts, the medical staff could only confirm his death.
Near the place where the accident occurred, there is a well-known nightlife establishment. The circumstances that led the young man to remain lying on the road are under investigation.
