Gavira, who will also be the second vice president of the Junta of Andalusia, will thus control actions related to gender violence that are directly related to the administration of justice.

The deputy spokesperson of the socialist parliamentary group, Ángeles Férriz, has asked the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, to “rectify” this decision “out of respect for the murdered and endangered women.”
“It is intolerable and indecent that the protection and care of victims of sexist violence have been left in the hands of Vox by Mr. Moreno Bonilla. A party that denies gender violence, trivializes it, and whitewashes it,” she said this Tuesday in an audio sent to the media by the party.
“The rights of women are at risk. That those who deny sexist violence control the measures and the professionals who protect us is tremendous. Moreno Bonilla allows it, clinging to his seat,” socialist parliamentarian and PSOE-A equality secretary Olga Manzano also posted on her official account on the social network ‘X’.
For his part, the spokesperson of Adelante Andalucía, José Ignacio García, pointed out the “danger and irresponsibility” of the decision and assured that “they will be very vigilant.”
“We will not allow a single attack on the fight against gender violence and Andalusian women and the rights of Andalusian women,” García said in an audio sent to the media.
Joining these criticisms was the spokesperson of Por Andalucía and federal coordinator of Izquierda Unida (IU), Antonio Maíllo, who stated that the PP “not only does not set limits to the far right but makes its own agenda.”
“Moreno Bonilla again pays Vox’s support with women’s rights. Now he hands over the service that values victims of sexist violence,” he said in a post on his official account on the social network ‘X’.
The deputy spokesperson of the coalition, Rosa Rodríguez, called it “irresponsible” to “question” the professionals who provide this service “to please those who systematically deny sexist violence.” “The fight against gender violence requires cross-cutting consensus, guaranteed public resources, and scrupulous respect for technical and scientific criteria. Ending the autonomy of the assessment units to ensure maintaining the government crosses an unacceptable red line,” she emphasized.
The decree published last July 9 in the Official Bulletin of the Junta of Andalusia (BOJA), which creates the vice presidencies and restructures the ministries that make up the Junta administration, states that Gavira will manage the competencies related to gender violence that are directly related to the administration of justice.
