Sources from Iniciativa, one of the parties in Compromís where Oltra is a member, explained that in a previous leadership meeting it was agreed to invite the former vice president since she is not part of this body and to “ask her to be the Compromís candidate for València.”
However, this morning, with names and surnames, the same sources explain that the municipal spokesperson of Compromís, Papi Robles, told them that the executive is not going to ask Oltra to be a candidate, but that “it was going to address internal procedural issues regarding the candidacy.” Since Oltra is not part of the executive, the virtual mayoral candidate has decided not to attend.

The municipal group tries to downplay this absence and assures that nothing has changed and that Oltra will be the candidate. Already in the morning, the same sources framed Oltra’s invitation in the idea of accelerating her designation, but clarified that the executive was not sovereign in this matter.
