The interview granted by Juan Carlos Ferrero in Italy continues to make headlines. In addition to being open to coaching Jannick Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz’s great rival, the former coach of the Murcian tennis player until last December admitted that with him, Alcaraz would not have bought a 9 million euro yacht.

Months after their high-profile breakup, Carlos Alcaraz bought a Sunreef Ultima 88 yacht, a model from the renowned builder Sunreef Yachts, custom-made according to the Spanish tennis player’s specifications.
This is how I raise my children
Asked in ‘Corriere della Sera‘ about the words of coach Riccardo Piatti, who said a few weeks ago that Carlos Alcaraz would not have bought a 9 million euro yacht if he had stayed with Juan Carlos Ferrero, the Valencian coach stated: “He’s right… Maybe I told him no too many times, but Carlos was family to me and that’s how I raise my children.”

Carlos Alcaraz acquired a 24-meter long yacht that reaches a maximum speed of 26 knots. The vessel features four cabins, a master suite with sea views and a bathroom with a bathtub, as well as a swimming pool, a spacious garage for his jet skis, and a hydraulic platform for easy access to the sea.
Explaining why he had bought a yacht, Carlos Alcaraz said: “I decided to commission the Ultima 88 from Sunreef because I believe they are not only experts in luxury yachts, but also true trendsetters. I feel that we share the same dynamic spirit, we make a great pair. Building with them gives me the assurance that it will be the perfect yacht to disconnect and recharge.”
“I believe it will be the perfect yacht to disconnect and recharge. I just want to have a lot of fun. I just want to think about my jet ski and enjoy the water,” added the Murcian tennis player.
He would like to coach Sinner, the number one
Also in that interview, asked about his willingness to coach Jannick Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz’s main rival, Juan Carlos Ferrero began by answering: “Just a few months ago, I would have said no: the breakup with Carlos was recent and I wasn’t ready.”
“But now that I feel stronger, I say: why not?” continued the former coach of the Spanish tennis player.
“Sinner loves to work hard and is willing to do whatever it takes to remain number one: I like his attitude. It would be wonderful to coach him,” he concluded.
