According to Protecció Civil, meteorological forecasts indicate that intense and sudden storms could break out in the coming hours, with rainfall of up to 40 liters per square meter in half an hour and in some areas up to 60 liters per square meter in three hours. The rainfall could cause rivers and streams to rise, according to Protecció Civil, which asks to take extreme precautions and avoid approaching affected areas, even if it is not raining.
The Catalan Water Agency warns that the rains could cause punctual rises in rivers and streams given that the ground is wet from recent rains, so it asks not to cross them under any circumstances even if it is not raining.
