“The Iranian minister detailed the status of the ongoing negotiation,” sources from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation reported.
This contact, held at the request of the Iranian minister, also served for Albares to reiterate “Spanish support for the diplomatic path and the ongoing negotiation to achieve a definitive peace,” according to these sources.
The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also confirmed the telephone conversation, highlighting that both have “exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as on bilateral relations.”
“Araqchi emphasized the responsible approach of the Islamic Republic of Iran to maintain stability and sustainable security in the region and explained our country’s diplomatic efforts and initiatives to end the war imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime against Iran,” he recounted.
Iran has maintained contact with several Foreign Ministers
Araqchi has held a series of contacts with foreign ministers from various countries, the latest with the Foreign Minister of Oman, Badr al Busaidi; with Germany’s Johann Wadephul, or Brazil’s Mauro Vieira.

Meanwhile, the exchange of proposals between Washington and Tehran continues. On Saturday, Iran reported that it had conveyed to the United States through Pakistan a 14-point offer that foresees ending the war within 30 days.
This Sunday, the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baqaei, reported that they have received the United States’ response to the plan and that the authorities are already studying it.
The Iranian proposal foresees “ending the war” within 30 days in contrast to what Washington proposes, which includes a two-month ceasefire.
Tehran also requests guarantees of non-aggression, withdrawal of US forces from the vicinity of Iran, an end to the naval blockade, or the release of frozen Iranian assets.
It also contemplates the payment of compensation, the lifting of sanctions, and the end of the war on all fronts, including Lebanon, or the implementation of a new mechanism for the Strait of Hormuz, according to the semi-official Iranian news agency Tasnim.
