The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested a minor as the alleged perpetrator of a violent death by stabbing that occurred last night in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona.

According to the statement distributed by the Generalitat police, around 11:55 p.m., officers received a report of an incident on Cera Street, where a person had been seriously injured by stabbing, for reasons that are under investigation.

Units from the Mossos d’Esquadra, the Barcelona Urban Guard, firefighters, and Emergency Medical System (SEM) personnel went to the scene, transporting the critically injured person to a hospital, where they later died.

The alleged perpetrator was located shortly after by the Barcelona Urban Guard and was taken into custody. The DIC has taken over the investigation, which is under secrecy of proceedings.
