Moreno, with the businessmen, advocates for reducing unemployment

The acting president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno Bonilla, set as a goal yesterday, taking advantage of Labor Day, for Andalucía to reach “the national average” in terms of unemployment in the next legislature.

The PP candidate, during his speech at the event “Strategic Dialogue. The new Andalucía,” held in Seville with businessmen on the first day of the 17-A campaign, emphasized after congratulating the workers that the company is “equally important.”

They are complementary, Moreno stated, who called to “demystify the walls that are placed in society between some and others” and recalled that, in 2024, 80% of the new companies created in Spain were established in Andalucía.

Moreno highlighted in his speech that during his term the record for job creation has been broken and that for the first time Andalucía is at the lowest unemployment rate, specifically a 3.8% difference compared to the numbers for the whole of Spain. Taking that reference as a thread, the Andalusian president emphasized that his region “is the best place in the world to live for climate, for attitude, for culture, and for that vitalist vision we have that makes us different from others,” but he qualified that “it cannot only be that,” but “it must also be a place to work and to undertake.”

For the popular leader, Andalucía must also be “that nerve center of production, training and, therefore, of the economic dynamism we need.” In this regard, he considered, “with the utmost humility,” that Andalucía “is taking important and relevant steps” to be “a pole of economic attraction” and to be leaders in other areas, but he regretted that “we have not had it in the business field in general” and pointed out that it has nothing to envy to Catalonia or Madrid, although he showed himself willing to “copy” the things that are done well in those territories.

The acting president has started the campaign alone and it will be tomorrow when Alberto Núñez Feijóo appears alongside him for the first time.
