A 32-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl died this Sunday in a fire that broke out at 5:30 p.m. in a restaurant in Cedrillas (Teruel). In addition, a third person was evacuated from the first floor of the building due to possible poisoning, according to the Civil Guard. The fire started on the lower part of the building, according to sources from the Provincial Council of Teruel consulted by EFE, and spread to the rest of the building with great force.

According to Diario de Teruel, the deceased were the owner of the Cedrún bar, which she had been running since June, and her daughter, both of Colombian origin. It was the neighbors themselves who pulled the girl out of the fire and, 15 minutes later, the mother. They also rescued a man from an adjacent apartment who came out unharmed while they tried to extinguish the flames with domestic hoses waiting for the firefighters to arrive.

The alert was received around 5:24 p.m. and four firefighters, two officers, and the duty chief of the Provincial Council of Teruel, as well as the 112 medicalized helicopter, a mobile ICU, health services, and 4 Civil Guard patrols, were dispatched to the scene. The fire gained strength but the firefighters from the Provincial Council of Teruel (DPT) were able to contain it and declared it extinguished at 7:20 p.m., and the Judicial Police Unit of the Teruel Command took over the investigation.
