The Mossos d’Esquadra have arrested an 18-year-old young man allegedly linked to the death of Dolors Agustí, a 75-year-old woman, who was found dead on Saturday night in a cornfield in Soses, a municipality in the Segrià region of Lleida.
The young man was arrested in Soses, according to the Catalan police, who did not specify the nationality of the detainee. On Sunday, sources familiar with the case indicated that the Mossos suspected a man who did not live in the town.
Dolors Agustí had gone out for a walk with her dog around 7:45 p.m. A few hours later, the animal returned alone to Soses, which alarmed the family and neighbors, who began to search for her. Around 11:45 p.m., two neighbors found her dead in a corn plantation located about 200 meters from the town. She had marks of blows and cuts with a blunt object all over her body.
The Town Hall of Soses called for a minute of silence on Sunday at noon, attended by dozens of neighbors and people from surrounding towns to support the family. It also decreed three days of mourning.
