By around 6 p.m. on Friday, July 31, the fire that broke out last Saturday in Vall d’Uixó (Castellón) was declared stabilized. The provincial fire consortium reports that there is still “a lot of work ahead, but it is time to acknowledge the entire operation that has made it possible to stabilize the fire.” Officially, the fire has devastated 9,568 hectares until its boundaries could be fixed and its advance stopped.

The Minister of Emergencies and Interior, Juan Carlos Valderrama, reported after the Cecopi meeting the stabilization of the area affected by the fire and the transition to situation 1 of the Special Plan against the risk of Forest Fires, although he warned that there may be some flare-ups in the hot spots.

Valderrama has asked the public not to travel on the roads or routes of the affected municipalities to thereby favor the recovery of the forest mass, to avoid risks such as falling trees, and to facilitate the action of firefighting resources, as the fire is neither controlled nor extinguished.
