This was reported by sources from the regional Government, who assure that the vice president and the head of the club’s Legal Services refused to grant access to the technical and operational personnel designated by the Executive.

These workers are responsible for carrying out the inspection, verification, and execution functions derived from the precautionary suspension of the Vallecas Stadium concession to Rayo Vallecano, announced this Tuesday after serious safety deficiencies were detected in the facilities.

“The Community of Madrid appeared at Vallecas stadium at 9 a.m. this Wednesday with technicians in gardening, electricity, plumbing, air conditioning, and ventilation. Faced with Rayo Vallecano’s refusal, the technicians began working in the building adjacent to the stadium that is leased to Sports Federations,” the Government stated.

However, the gardening staff remained outside the stadium waiting to be allowed in to take care of the grass. “This has always been the Club’s modus operandi and it is what is destroying the image and prestige of Rayo Vallecano and the Stadium,” said the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports of the Community of Madrid, Mariano de Paco Serrano, on the matter.

De Paco described this attitude as a “stalling tactic,” since, he pointed out, Rayo has submitted a document to the regional Administration requesting documentation already present in the file previously sent to the club by electronic means.

“From now on, every day the team cannot play in its stadium will be the responsibility of the club’s board,” warned the minister.
