Pogacar was thoroughly examined at the hospital where he arrived by ambulance and is stable, according to the UAE team doctor Adrian Rotunno.
“He was diagnosed with a concussion, a displaced fracture of the left collarbone, a stable C7 cervical fracture, and multiple abrasions,” details the Slovenian’s medical report.
That broken collarbone “will require surgery,” confirmed the doctor, who explained the reason why it will not be immediate but “will be delayed due to concussion precautions.”

Although it is not explicitly stated in the statement, this makes it practically impossible for him to race again this season, where the World Championship (September 27) and Il Lombardia (October 10) remained as major goals.
That said, the medical report assures that “fortunately, Pogacar does not have other serious injuries or neurological sequelae.” The cyclist will be under the attentive care of the UAE team doctors, who will report again on the condition of the 27-year-old Slovenian after the operation.
