At its peak, the column of smoke was visible from some parts of the city of Barcelona. The Aneto Cross, the historic emblem located at an altitude of 3,404 meters on the highest peak of the Pyrenees, has disappeared from its location, sources from the Civil Guard confirmed to La Vanguardia.
