The model, which reaches 62 centimeters in height, has been designed to faithfully reflect the complexity and scale of the real work, whose construction began in 1882. According to Rok Žgalin Kobe, designer for the Danish company, the development of this piece has been “a unique design challenge” in trying to balance precision with the nature of a “living monument that is constantly evolving.” The level of detail of the set even allows it to be divided into sections to observe its interior and recreates the characteristic effect of light passing through the basilica’s stained glass windows.

The anticipation for the miniature version of the Sagrada Familia runs parallel to the religious activity that the basilica will host next week. Pope Leo XIV, the first pontiff to visit Spain in 15 years, will lead a mass in the Sagrada Familia on Wednesday, and will bless the tower of Jesus Christ, which crowns the expiatory temple, as it commemorates the completion of the temple’s central and tallest structure.
