Hundreds of flights have been canceled in the United Kingdom due to a technical problem related to air traffic control, according to the flight monitoring site FlightRadar24, which places London’s Heathrow Airport as the most affected.

The flight tracking website Flightradar24 stated on social media that arrivals and departures were being regulated at airports in the London flight information region due to this problem.
According to data from the flight tracking platform FlightAware, about 100 flights have been canceled at Heathrow and 367 have been delayed. At Gatwick, about 250 flights have been delayed, which represents nearly 31% of the total, according to the data. The instability has affected departures from all over southern Britain, as well as Manchester, Birmingham, and even Edinburgh, Scotland.
These problems have also caused numerous delays in departures from Heathrow, Gatwick, and Manchester, among others.

The company NATS, which manages air traffic control for 15 British airports, acknowledged that there were “technical problems in the flight processing system” and that this caused “disruptions,” but the airspace was never closed at any time. “Flights continue to take off and the airspace is open, but recovery will take some time,” it said.
The affected airports have recommended that travelers check with their airlines for possible delays and cancellations.
The British Transport Minister, Heidi Alexander, stated on social media that she was aware of the incident and that technicians had already “identified the problem” and were “fixing it at this moment.”
