He announced this on El Hormiguero, where he was interviewed by Pablo Motos. Thus, Riquelme continues to reveal some of the names that are part of his project. The businessman had already revealed in previous days that Raúl will be his sporting director, Fernando Hierro will lead the youth academy, and he also stated that “a player like Rodri” will play for Real Madrid. In fact, during the interview, after Motos reminded him that no Real Madrid player will play in the World Cup with Spain, Riquelme assured that: “with me, a player who will be in the World Cup with the national team will play for Madrid.”

Riquelme also had time to explain how he almost lost his life in a plane accident. According to him, “four or five years ago,” on a flight from Mexico City to Panama, the plane went off the runway when trying to land.
