In a radio-televised interview by Public Sénat and RTL, Beccuau noted that these individuals have taken this step following the call she made at the beginning of the year, within the framework of the investigation launched for “human trafficking” and after the United States Administration published thousands of Epstein’s documents, who died in prison in 2019.

The prosecutor indicated that testimony will be taken from these alleged victims, some of whom live outside France, but before that the investigators want to “structure” their knowledge about “Epstein’s relationship with all the protagonists,” particularly by studying the documents posted online by the United States.

Asked if she has experienced any kind of pressure in managing this case, the Public Ministry representative responded firmly: “absolutely none.”

On the other hand, Beccuau announced that the complaints filed by women who say they suffered sexual assaults by singer Patrick Bruel will be grouped at the Nanterre Prosecutor’s Office, the court in the Paris suburbs that has jurisdiction considering the artist’s residence.

She specified that based on the information available, there are currently four complaints against Bruel, as the one announced this Friday by TV presenter Flavie Flament, who says she was raped in 1991 when she was 16 years old, and which has not been formally notified, is not counted.
