On a tour of New York, where he is scheduled to make the first pitch or ceremonial throw at the Yankees game, the blaugrana forward has given several interviews to US media in which he cast doubt on whether he will remain a blaugrana player next season.
On the Sportico portal, he was asked a direct question: what does Barça have to do to keep you? To which Ferran Torres responded with a challenge: “Show that they want me, that they come to negotiate and in the end it’s all about talking.”
And he let himself be wanted by PSG: “Being wanted by these teams is good. I have a contract with Barcelona. It’s true that in football you never know what can happen, but the good thing is that since I have a contract, I can wait and decide on my own.”
In the interview broadcast Monday night on the program The Source, in CNN’s prime time, Kaitlan Collins pointed out that he has a contract with Barcelona until 2027 and that, after his goal that decided Spain’s victory in the North American World Cup, there was much talk about his professional future.
“For now, the only thing I know is that on August 12 I have to join there (in Barcelona) to train with the team. We’ll see what happens,” he replied. He had said something similar on NBC a few hours earlier.
Collins specified in her question and was precise. “Would you be open to changing your team for PSG?” she asked him. “Maybe, you never know, because in football everything can change in a minute. That’s why I have to be prepared for any scenario,” the Valencian replied.

Before wrapping up with Torres, Collins spent 50 minutes talking about the latest fronts open for President Donald Trump, especially in Iran, and about the role of socialist Democrats in Tuesday’s primaries.
This explains why part of the interview with the Barça player was devoted to the story of the Make Spain Great Again cap that Torres wore at the Madrid celebrations, a garment with such a Trump-like resonance.
“It was a fun moment that had nothing to do with politics. Honestly, I don’t know about politics. It was simply a way to express that we were seeing Spain at the top again, winning the World Cup. It was just to have fun with my friends and family, nothing related to politics,” he assured.
Regarding that honorary pitch at the Bronx Bombers’ field, he admitted that “this makes me even more nervous than the World Cup final, because everyone will be there watching me.” Besides, “I’ve never made a throw” (of a baseball). “It will be my first time and I’m very excited,” he emphasized.
