The judge of the National Court Santiago Pedraz has agreed to summon former Civil Guard director Leonardo Marcos to testify as an investigated person on September 10 in the case against an alleged plot aimed at destabilizing judicial proceedings affecting the PSOE and the Government.

In an order, the magistrate agrees to this procedure at the request of the unified popular prosecution and also the testimony as a witness on the same day of the chief prosecutor of Badajoz, José Luis Tejuca.
The prosecution, led by the PP, considers that the investigated facts “respond to a coordinated action by the Civil Guard leadership” to open a file and harass the agents and heads of the Central Operative Unit (UCO) responsible for investigations into the PP or the environment of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.

In the same resolution, the instructor agrees to send an official letter to the State Attorney General’s Office and the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Badajoz to forward to the court various documents related to the file concerning the complaint filed against Leire Díez.
Meanwhile, the judge continues with the round of testimonies in the case of the plot to destabilize judicial processes affecting the PSOE or the environment of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, for which the party’s so-called ‘plumber’ and former organization secretary Santos Cerdán are being investigated. Today it was the turn of Daniel Mateo, whom the UCO identifies as a collaborator of the Civil Guard’s Intelligence Headquarters.
According to the investigators, Mateo was the one who arranged a meeting between Díez and Civil Guard commander Rubén Villalba, investigated in the ‘Koldo case’.
According to the witness himself, he held several meetings with Díez when she was looking for dirt on the heads of the Civil Guard’s Central Operative Unit (UCO), specifically Antonio Balas.

Mateo indicated that Díez referred to Pedro Sánchez as the “one.” She herself acknowledged to him, according to Mateo, that “the one is Pedro.”
The case contains references to the “one” or “superboss” both from Díez and Santos Cerdán. In a notebook of the former, there is a reference about In a message seized by the UCO, Díez herself told her interlocutor that “yesterday the ‘one’ told S to tell me that I am doing a huge job.”
Throughout the interrogation, Mateo maintained that he gave “credibility” to the things Díez said although he admitted that he was also “afraid” of certain statements or intentions of hers.
Likewise, he said there were two situations that allowed him to place Díez as someone with weight in the party. The first, that in front of him she received a call from the Civil Guard’s director general, Mercedes González, investigated in this case.
And the second, that in light of all these events, Mateo himself called then Koldo García, former advisor to José Luis Ábalos, former Minister of Transport, both convicted by the Supreme Court for corruption. García, whom he knew as a Civil Guard informant, told him, according to his testimony, that Díez “was a person with weight within the PSOE and with very good connections,” according to sources present at the interrogation.
