A person dies in the Manises fire, already stabilized by firefighters

The Fire Consortium has declared the forest fire that broke out around 12:50 p.m. this Saturday in the Salt de l’Aigua ravine area of the Valencian town of Manises to be stabilized. However, the bad news is that the local council has reported on social media that the fire has claimed the life of one person. The council has decreed two days of official mourning, tomorrow and Monday.

Likewise, five people have been injured by smoke inhalation and burns, and have been transferred to Manises Hospital. Three Basic Life Support units (SVB) and two emergency transport ambulances have been mobilized to the scene, according to sources from the CICU.

In the fire extinguishing operation, in an area close to buildings, four aerial units and six fire brigades from the Consortium, a sergeant, and four BRIFO (Forest Brigades of the Consortium) participated.
