A new cable theft affects the Catalan railway network for the second consecutive day. This time, the incident occurred in La Sagrera and is causing disruptions to high-speed trains running between Barcelona and Girona.

According to a statement from Adif via its social networks, trains may experience several delays while technicians work to resolve this incident as soon as possible.
This second theft occurs one day after the copper theft that forced the suspension of Rodalies train services between Lleida and La Plana de Picamoixons stations.
The damage, caused by several fires in the Vinaixa interlocking system after the theft of electrical conductor cable parallel to the catenary, destroyed the telecommunications system and fiber optic cabling.
As a provisional solution and while repairs last, Renfe has established an alternative road transport plan in the affected sections, specifically lines R13 and R14, which correspond to medium-distance trains connecting Barcelona with Lleida via Tarragona.
