Felipe, Letizia, and their daughters landed this Monday morning in Madrid, after their lightning trip to New York, where they arrived last Saturday and from where they returned shortly after the Spanish players and the King himself lifted the champions’ cup. On this occasion, there was no meeting in the locker room as the players stayed on the field enjoying the moment and their families and, for security reasons and also due to the urgency to return to Madrid, the Kings and their daughters left the stadium when the team had not yet gone down to the locker room.
It will be this afternoon, around 5:30 p.m., when the King officially congratulates them, along with the Queen, the Princess, and the Infanta. Last night, the four enjoyed the match and also had the opportunity to share the moment with the other authorities present.

The Kings, along with the President of the Government, followed the match from the glass-enclosed, and secured, box, where also present were the President of the United States, Donald Trump, the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, the Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, and the President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino. On the other side of the glass, in a side box, were Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía, who sat next to heroes of the South Africa World Cup such as Iker Casillas, Xavi Hernández, Carles Puyol, and Sergio Ramos. After Ferran Torres’ goal that gave the Spanish team the victory, it was seen how Princess Leonor approached the glass that separated her from her parents to, in a surreal image, bring her hands close to her mother’s.
The Kings and their daughters arrived at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey two hours before the start of the match and were able to greet the authorities present at the facilities. The President of the United States gave them a commemorative coin of the 45th/47th President of the United States as a protocol gift, while the King gave Trump another coin from the Royal Mint of His Majesty King Felipe VI.
