The American-British male influencer Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested on Saturday in Miami, United States, at the request of the United Kingdom, which demands their extradition for alleged rape.
At AFP’s request, the US Marshals, the American federal police service responsible for locating fugitives and executing court decisions, confirmed the information from TMZ, which published a video of the arrest. They refused to describe the reason, as the arrest warrant was sealed.
However, the British prosecution announced at the same time, in a press release, that the arrest of the two brothers had been made at the request of the United Kingdom, which is requesting a total of 59 charges (42 for Andrew and 17 for Tristan), including rape, assault, and other sexual and child criminal offenses.
Andrew Tate, 39, and his brother Tristan, 38, are wanted in the United Kingdom for “rape, complicity in sexual exploitation, and offenses related to indecent images of a child,” wrote prosecutor Malcolm McHaffie in this statement, adding that there are seven alleged victims to date.
The Tate brothers’ lawyer, Joseph McBride, said in a statement that his clients “are innocent,” called their testimony a “political trick,” and expressed confidence that they will be released soon.

This outspoken supporter of US President Donald Trump, who calls himself “Top G” or “Cobra” online, was banned from Instagram and TikTok for his very aggressive misogynistic comments.
He and his brother were imprisoned for a few months in Romania, where they lived for several years, accused of deceiving several women for sexual exploitation, including minors, before being allowed to leave the country, which they did in February 2025.
Other human trafficking charges
Earlier this year, Hertfordshire police, north of London, announced that they would reopen an investigation into allegations of rape and sexual assault made by women against Andrew Tate between 2014 and 2015.
The Tate brothers also face other charges of rape and human trafficking, from different women, which are being investigated by Bedfordshire Police, covering their hometown of Luton, also north of London. They are also accused of tax evasion and money laundering in the United Kingdom.
