According to the forest fire prevention and extinction unit of the Government of Aragón, last night it was necessary to protect the towns of Malpica de Arba and Uncastillo as the flames reached both villages.

The operational level 2 situation of the Special Civil Protection Plan for Forest Fires (PROCINFO) is currently activated, and throughout the morning new resources are expected to join the extinction efforts and aerial means will begin working.

The Vice President of the Government and Minister for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, Sara Aagesen, will visit the advanced command post located in Farasdués (Zaragoza) this Friday to assess the situation of this fire, as will the President of Aragón, Jorge Azcón.
