In fact, the Madrid Provincial Prosecutor’s Office requested the dismissal of the case, which was ultimately agreed upon by Judge Esperanza Collazos, understanding that there was not enough evidence of irregularity. At the time, the case against Plus Ultra was initiated following a complaint by the PP and Manos Limpias. It was ultimately dismissed but later reopened when new information arrived, resulting in former Prime Minister Zapatero being charged.
