The viewer has to prepare to say “au revoir” to Emily Cooper. According to Netflix’s announcement, the sixth season of Emily in Paris will be the last. It cannot exactly be called a cancellation. With the sixth season currently in production, the series has had its creative run on television and, considering Netflix’s usual allergy to long-running series, it has become one of the veteran series in the catalog.

The news was communicated while Darren Star’s team is in Greece to shoot part of the sixth season, already announced in January after the airing of the fifth. Let us remember that Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), at the end of the last episodes, invited Emily (Lily Collins) to Greece, where he was on vacation for a few days. This will continue a tradition started last year of leaving Paris and France, after having been in Italy in the fifth season, with locations in Rome and Venice.
“The sixth season will give you everything you love about the series and will serve as the final chapter in Emily’s great life adventure,” Lily Collins previewed in a video shared by Netflix. The footage also shows images of the rest of the cast, including Lucas Bravo, Ashley Park, Lucien Laviscount, Eugenio Franceschini, and Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu.
Regarding the creator, Star wanted to express his gratitude through a statement to Netflix, Paramount, and the fans for making this six-year journey possible: “We can’t wait to share this final chapter with you. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives, inspire your travel dreams, and your love for Paris.”

It is not the only Netflix series that has just announced that its next season will be the last: The Night Agent and The Lincoln Lawyer are also finalizing their final seasons.
