The Madrid Municipal Police have arrested a woman of about 36 years old in the Carabanchel district for leaving her son, under two years old, in the stroller on the street while she was partying with other friends.

The events occurred on May 10 at around 5:30 a.m., when a Municipal Police patrol was alerted by a citizen who reported that there was a minor alone in a baby stroller in the middle of the street.
The officers verified these facts and, in fact, observed that there were several cans of beer in the stroller’s basket. Agents from the Women’s, Elderly, and Minor Protection Police Station arrived at the scene and confirmed that the baby was in good condition.

At that moment, a woman arrived at the scene who, in an evident state of intoxication, claimed to be a relative of the baby and was on the phone with the child’s mother, according to the Madrid Municipal Police.
According to this account, the mother thought the child was in the care of another person, although the story is incoherent and even difficult to understand. Finally, the baby’s mother appeared at the scene and was arrested for child abandonment, as the child could have been unsupervised for about two hours.
