Kisses.” This is how the former Andalusian parliamentarian and Adelante Andalucía candidate in 2022 for the presidency of the Junta, Teresa Rodríguez, responded to a derogatory tweet, now deleted, during the Andalusian election day.

Rodríguez shared on her social media a photo in front of the ballot box at the polling station where she went to vote. The outfit on her head caught attention in the photo. On X, a user decided to throw a rude comment at the politician. “What are you dressed up as?” it said. In response, Rodríguez revealed that she is undergoing chemotherapy due to cancer.

The X user who asked the question apologized to the politician, who replied: “Don’t worry, really. Everything is fine.” Rodríguez, who had kept her illness private until yesterday, has since received numerous expressions of support and solidarity from civil society and politics, whether rivals or not.
