Already at the Transatlantic Dock, a team from External Health, following established public health and safety protocols, will now be responsible for inspecting the ship and deciding whether passengers can disembark in the city, as reported by the Government Delegation in Galicia. Between passengers and crew, this cruise ship carries 1,750 people.

The ‘Ambition’, coming from the Shetland Islands (United Kingdom), called at Belfast, Liverpool, and Brest before stopping in Bordeaux, when the death of a British nonagenarian male with gastroenteritis was confirmed, an event that coincided with the appearance of vomiting and diarrhea cases among about fifty people.

It was scheduled to make a stop in Ferrol (A Coruña) today, but it was canceled. Yesterday afternoon, a coordination meeting was held with the Port Authority of A Coruña, the A Coruña City Council, the Xunta de Galicia, Maritime Captaincy, the state security forces, the ship’s agent, and the Cruise Terminal.
