Jonathan Andic became interested in a treatment devised by his therapist, Maria Julia Lüderwaldt, which involved simulating throwing a hated family member off a cliff. This was explained by the English teacher Johanna during the five hours that the two statements she voluntarily gave to the Mossos d’Esquadra lasted, according to La Vanguardia from sources familiar with the investigation.

The therapy was intended for another patient of Lüderwaldt, a man named Salvador, diagnosed with schizophrenia and who projected all his hatred towards his mother. Part of the treatment involved taking him to the Montserrat mountain, where the therapist would play the role of the mother and stand at the edge of a previously selected cliff. Then, she would urge her patient to push her off the cliff. “This way he would realize his inability to do it,” the English teacher detailed to the Mossos.

Johanna then revealed that Jonathan Andic, as soon as he learned about this technique, showed “great interest” and even offered to witness the exercise in person.
Salvador, the therapist Maria Julia Lüderwaldt, a nurse “in case something happened,” and Jonathan Andic as a spectator were supposed to attend that controversial intervention in Montserrat.
To carry out that extreme therapy, Lüderwaldt asked Johanna to look for, among the trails she usually walked for leisure, a route that had cliffs. On December 1, 2024, both walked the Camí de les Feixades de Montserrat, the same route where 13 days later the founder of Mango would die.
During that excursion, the therapist maintained before her collaborator that the experiment was intended for Salvador. However, at the end of the route, she indicated that this trail could also be useful for another patient, Jonathan Andic, about whom she only said that “he had problems managing money.”

At this point in the story, it is worth remembering that the appearance of the English teacher occurred on June 29. None of the protagonists of the case had referred to her until then, except the therapist, briefly, during her judicial statement. Jonathan Andic had also not explained, neither to his defense team, nor at the police station nor in court, that he had learned about the path where his father died from a collaborator of his therapist who had previously been tasked with finding routes with cliffs.
The two statements of the English teacher have marked a turning point in the investigation into the alleged homicide of Isak Andic. Until that moment, magistrate Raquel Nieto, prosecutor Teresa Yoldi, and the investigators based their suspicions about Jonathan Andic in relation to his father’s death on various indications, but the contributions of the new witness have only served to “buttress” that line of investigation, according to sources familiar with the case.
In her statements, the English teacher said that the therapist told her that Jonathan Andic wanted to go for a walk with a niece and that at no time did he mention his father. “It’s a Christmas gift for a niece, and besides Jonathan is learning English,” she said to finally convince her.

The analysis of Isak’s phone is extended to one year
Judge Raquel Nieto signed in July before going on vacation an extensive order in which she instructed the Mossos to carry out several procedures. Among others, the complete extraction and analysis of the data from Isak Andic’s mobile phone, including all content stored in the cloud. Until now, investigators had authorization to dump and analyze material from the six months prior to the death of the founder of Mango, but the order extended the period to all of 2024. An order first reported by El Periódico and confirmed by this newspaper. The report has not been completed, as the content of the device is, besides sensitive, abundant. The social and economic profile of the victim meant he maintained regular relationships with personalities from all sectors. Hence, from the beginning, the police responsible for extracting and reading all that vast and sometimes compromising material received the sole instruction that only data relevant to the investigation should appear in the police reports. In that same order, the magistrate requested a detailed report on the quick trip Jonathan Andic made to Ecuador four months after his father’s death.
This is how the English teacher showed the Montserrat route to Jonathan Andic. It happened on December 7, 2024. During the walk, Jonathan did not mention his father at any time and insisted he wanted to take a niece. The next day, December 8, Jonathan returned to Montserrat. On the 10th he returned again. And on the 14th he went accompanied by his father, whom he had encouraged to go for a walk so they could be together and talk alone.
The English teacher detailed to the investigators the content of the conversations she had with the therapist and handed over her phone so the Mossos could extract the WhatsApp messages they exchanged. Among them, one is particularly striking. After learning about the tragic fall of Isak Andic, Johanna asked Lüderwaldt if she knew what had happened. “Better not to know, I might be next,” she replied.
The police showed Johanna several images of the spot from which the businessman fell to try to find out if she and Jonathan had stopped at that exact place when they walked the route. The woman reiterated that she did not remember, despite the investigators insisting on the importance of that detail.
The contributions of the new witness add indications against the son of the founder of Mango
So far, the witness has only testified at the police station, after following for months with “anguish,” according to her circle, the progress of the investigation into the alleged homicide.
Jonathan Andic’s defense, led by lawyer Cristóbal Martell, has not had access to the English teacher’s statements even though they were made at the end of June. This circumstance opens the possibility that there is a secret file in the Martorell court related to the investigations around the two women: the controversial therapist and the English teacher who occasionally collaborated with her with English-speaking patients.
The magistrate had already warned the investigators in one of her writings about the need to analyze the possible involvement of third parties who, indirectly, might have been involved in the death of the founder of Mango.
