The PP believes that the situation in Ceuta “has worsened,” just as a month and a half has passed since the massive entry of more than 70,000 immigrants from Morocco. The Popular Party denounces that responsibilities have yet to be clarified since only “two technicians” have resigned from their positions – the chief of staff of the Government delegate in Ceuta and a National Security press officer – and they warn that they will “Europeanize” the problem.

The PP spokesperson Borja Sémper has reproached that ministers Margarita Robles, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, and Félix Bolaños are still in office today. “I am surprised that this Government has not already dissolved the Cortes and called elections. In Spain, can nothing happen that makes the president take responsibility? Not even the CIS can convince him?”, Sémper asked, insisting that the main person responsible is Pedro Sánchez.
The PP spokesperson lamented that Sánchez comes to say that the situation in Ceuta will become “a structural reality” because that translates into it becoming “chronic.” “Our commitment is that we will not allow this to happen. Negligence demands responsibilities, we will not stop,” Sémper said.
The PP will take the situation in Ceuta to Europe and, in this regard, Alberto Núñez Feijóo will meet on Thursday with the Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner. And next Monday, he will visit Ceuta for the fourth time, accompanied by European Populars Manfred Weber and Dolors Monserrat.
Likewise, Sémper, after giving some figures indicating that insecurity in Ceuta has increased and the situation “has worsened,” demanded two measures. On the one hand, he insisted on the return of immigrants since, without it, “nothing or very few problems can be solved in Ceuta.” In this regard, he recalled that Morocco has offered to admit all immigrants. And, secondly, he called to reinforce with national police and civil guards and to enable the military to perform public order functions. “We want women not to have to self-confine and for families to be able to go to parks and take their children to school,” he summarized.

Economy
The PP advances more measures to ease housing prices
Sémper also wanted to address the economic situation of Spaniards, with housing as the main problem. In this regard, he announced that the party will soon reveal new initiatives in this area. Last week, the party already managed to approve a motion in Congress with eight measures, including the repeal of the current Housing Law and the reduction of taxes on buying and selling.
CIS
The PP avoids evaluating the results
Sémper refused to evaluate the results of the latest CIS, which continues to give victory to Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE despite all private polls giving an absolute majority to the right-wing bloc with Feijóo as the winner. “It has been technically proven that the CIS is being used in a partisan way. Does anyone still believe what the CIS says?”, he asked.

The PP rejects an Investigation Commission
Sémper also explained the PP’s position regarding the Grandchildren Law after the Supreme Court halted the incorporation of naturalized citizens into the electoral census. The PP spokesperson, who rejected creating an Investigation Commission as Vox requests, insisted that what is being “discussed is a ministerial order that alters what the deputies decided in Congress and, therefore, the process and the legislator’s will must be guaranteed.” The PP denounces that the order expands the number of beneficiaries compared to the initial law, something that would violate the legal system.
