Convinced that many of their demands that led to a month-long strike have not been met, the teachers of the Valencian Community, supported by families and students, took to the streets again this Saturday in the three capitals: València, Alicante, and Castelló. Just three days after the start of the school year, the slogans in favor of ”a public, quality education in Valencian” have once again echoed through the streets of the three cities. As happened between May 11 and June 11, the green protest t-shirts were the protagonists of the march.
Despite the festive atmosphere and band music, criticisms of the management of the Minister of Education, Carmen Ortí, were not lacking. In fact, a banner with the slogan ‘Minister, resignation’ led the march in the city of València, which began after 6:00 p.m. References to the reform of educational inspection – through the budget accompaniment law, in a new PP-Vox pact – to supposedly ensure that there is no indoctrination in classrooms were also constant. A decision that, in the middle of August, has further stirred the already complicated educational landscape.
A turbulent start to the school year, as was the end of the last one, which will conclude coinciding, in the spring of 2027, with a call for municipal and regional elections. Before that, there will be important union elections that will demonstrate the weight of the different organizations that have taken a stand in the complicated negotiations with the Valencian government.
ANPE and CSIF, who were present at the start of the May protests, broke away from union unity after agreeing on a salary increase and personal days for teachers; the rest (with a majority representation of workers) continued the battle. The strike was suspended but not called off, already thinking about this September.

Llorca criticizes the hypocrisy of Baldoví and Morant after governing for 8 years
Before the demonstration, the president of the Generalitat and leader of the PPCV, Juanfran Pérez Llorca, wanted to denounce the “hypocrisy of the leaders of Compromís and PSOE, Joan Baldoví and Diana Morant” for leading the teachers’ demonstration “after eight years of telling them no.”
“It is difficult for society to understand that those who said no to teachers for so long now wear the same t-shirt to claim what they did not do,” the popular leader highlighted in a statement.
