Real Madrid center-back Raúl Asencio continues to face legal troubles. On August 19 — two weeks before the trial begins for the crimes of child pornography and breach of confidentiality for the dissemination of a sexual video of a minor — the player was convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol in the south of Gran Canaria, as reported by the local media Atlántico hoy.

The incident took place on August 16 in the town of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. A police patrol stopped the player’s vehicle during a routine check and, after administering a breathalyzer test, recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.9 mg/liter of exhaled alcohol. This figure is nearly four times the legal limit, which is set at 0.25 mg/l.
Asencio admitted to the facts in a fast-track trial held three days later and was convicted. He was fined 14,400 euros and had his driving license suspended for eight months.

Following this conviction, the Real Madrid player must face the pending trial related to the unauthorized dissemination of sexual content videos recorded in 2023. The trial is scheduled to begin next Thursday, September 3, and conclude on Monday, September 7.
