The Government Delegation in Madrid has communicated this Wednesday to the City Council of the capital the prohibition to hold the gathering scheduled for this Wednesday in support of Ceuta in front of the City Hall, in the Plaza de Cibeles.

Specifically, these are some of the gatherings in defense of Ceuta that the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) has called in town halls across the country following the massive entry of more than 70,000 migrants at the end of July and coinciding with the commemoration of Ceuta Day.
In the case of Madrid, it was scheduled for 8:00 p.m. in the Plaza de Cibeles and the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the national leaders of PP and Vox, Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal, as well as the secretary general of the PP of Madrid, Alfonso Serrano, along with other members of the regional party leadership, were expected to attend.

After receiving this letter, the City Council has denounced “this attempt by the Sánchez Government to sabotage the citizens’ displays of support for the people of Ceuta” and has announced that “possible responses” are being studied.
Along the same lines, the popular spokesperson Miguel Tellado has wondered if behind the decision is Félix Bolaños “to try to sabotage the gatherings in defense of Ceuta.”
