Beyond the attacks, FC Barcelona, in the same note, criticized the confiscation of estelada flags from its supporters so that they could not be brought into the stands: “We regret that once again, police officers arbitrarily seized Catalan estelada flags, a democratic and legal symbol that in no case can be considered inciting hatred or violence.”
Political parties such as ERC or Junts demanded explanations from the Interior Ministry regarding the events, while the Police have launched an investigation to learn the details of their intervention and whether it was carried out according to the law. In Barcelona, they assure that “they will be attentive to the corresponding explanations from the Police and reserve the right to take those actions deemed appropriate to defend the integrity and the free democratic right of expression of our members and fans both at Spotify Camp Nou and in the stadiums of our opponents.”
