The Spanish Royal House will also attend the match: The Kings, Felipe VI and Leticia, and the princesses Leonor and Sofía. This was announced by Zarzuela this past Wednesday and was previewed by the monarch himself during his visit to the ruins of Empúries to attend a meeting with young people from the Princess of Girona Foundation.
Who will not attend the match is the President of the Argentine Republic, Javier Milei, who will cheer on the albiceleste team from the presidential residence, where he has celebrated the previous seven matches of the defending champion in the tournament, all victories.

Milei will not travel to New York for superstitious reasons: “It’s a superstition; I watch the matches in Olivos with my sister”
When asked on Thursday if he would travel to New Jersey to watch Sunday’s match alongside his American ally, Donald Trump, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Milei replied “no way.”
“I will continue watching all the matches from Olivos,” he told the local Buenos Aires radio station El Observador, referring to the presidential residence. The president confirmed it was for superstitious reasons or “superstitions,” and explained some of his rituals for watching the albiceleste.
“Since it’s cold and I don’t turn on the heating, I wear a jacket with the logo of an oil company. On the day of the match against Switzerland, I got very hot. I took it off and they scored a goal against us. I put it back on and never took it off again,” said the Argentine leader.
Argentine presidents have traditionally been cautious about attending decisive World Cup matches to avoid bringing bad luck to their teams. The superstition dates back to the 1990 tournament, when then-President Carlos Menem visited the Argentine squad just before they suffered a surprising initial defeat against Cameroon. Milei’s predecessors, Alberto Fernández (2019-2023) and Cristina Fernández (2007-2015), also chose not to travel to the World Cup finals in Brazil 2014 and Qatar 2022.
