After receiving a call at 14:10 through the 112 phone number, a Maritime Rescue boat transferred the woman to a rescue point, Protecció Civil reported in a statement.
Personnel from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) performed resuscitation maneuvers but nothing could be done to save her life. SEM mobilized 3 ground units, and the Mossos deployed a patrol.

At the time of the incident, there was lifeguard service and a green flag at Sant Pol beach. With this victim, the number of people who have died on Catalan beaches since the start of this year’s bathing season is now 16, according to Protecció Civil.
