The arrest was made by agents of the National Police Corps in Portbou, on the border with France. Later, around seven in the evening, the convict was admitted to the Puig de les Basses penitentiary center.
The individual was serving a sentence of 10 years, 3 months, and 1 day in prison for a homicide crime. This is William Morrow A., convicted of having killed and dismembered a man in an apartment on Casanova street in the Catalan capital in November 2022.

The inmate was participating in a scheduled activity accompanied by professionals from the penitentiary center. After visiting the Born area, he got out of the vehicle that was transporting him when it was stopped at a traffic light on Marina street and escaped. The activity supervisors alerted emergency services, the penitentiary center, and the Mossos d’Esquadra, who activated the search for the subject.
The Barcelona Court had sentenced him for a homicide crime and another for corpse desecration after the accused accepted the facts in a plea agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office.
