Two minors aged 10 and 15 die in a house fire in Benalmádena

Two minors aged ten and 15 have died this Thursday following a fire declared in a home in Arroyo de la Miel in the town of Benalmádena, Málaga, according to the 112, belonging to the Andalusian Emergency Agency, and the Town Hall of the municipality.

Several witnesses raised the alarm to the Emergency Phone 112 around 05:40 hours reporting a fire in an apartment of a four-story building on Ónix street, where it was necessary to evacuate two floors of the same building.

Immediately, the Health Emergency Center 061 was alerted; the Firefighters, who came from the Benalmádena, Mijas, and Fuengirola stations; the National and Local Police. According to the Town Hall in a statement, the forces found the flames of the fire “very advanced” upon arrival.

A firefighter has been injured and several officers have needed attention due to smoke inhalation

The rescue teams intervened to get several people out of the fire, although unfortunately the death of the two minors has been confirmed, while the mother was treated and transferred to the hospital with a serious prognosis.

Also, according to the Town Hall, one of the firefighters who participated in the operation has been injured and several police officers and firefighters have needed attention due to smoke inhalation. On the other hand, the Benalmádena Town Hall has deeply regretted the death of the minors.
