The party trusts that the wear and tear of a PP mandate that intended to be more discreet than previous ones, but is conditioned by a corruption scandal related to housing, the most sensitive issue for citizens today, will give Amorós opportunities.
Born in Alicante in 1971, no one can deny that Trini Amorós meets all the conditions that an independent headhunter would look for in a candidate for mayor of her city. In addition to having accumulated experience in local politics in the last two terms, she has a political career as a regional deputy, was an advisor in the Government Subdelegation, knows the Generalitat (she was Chief of Staff for Ana Barceló in the Ministry of Health), and has old and deep ties with institutions as representative as the University of Alicante, where she studied Law and presided over the Student Council, and the Fogueres festival, as she was Bellea del Foc in 1991.
With a firm and reserved character, in her role as deputy municipal spokesperson she stands out for avoiding outbursts that are frequent in current political debate, without ceasing to be inquisitive and critical in her interventions.

It seemed that the departure of the previous lead candidate could generate internal tensions but it was cut off at the root by approving the exception requested for the Alicante Group. Thus, there will be no primaries and Trini Amorós will be the socialist candidate for the upcoming municipal elections.

This exception is not approved for the Castellón City Council, but it is already an open secret that the regional deputy and former president of the Castelló Port Authority Rafael Simó will be the candidate for Mayor next year. The former spokesperson of the last government of Mayor Amparo Marco between 1999 and 2020 will seek to take the command baton from its current holder, the popular Begoña Carrasco. The PP leader won the last elections against the candidacy led by Marco, who will not run again in 2027.
Against the PSPV’s bet on new faces (something usual when elections are lost), the PP has not wanted to move anything and, at the event held on July 18 at the Cidade da Cultura in Santiago de Compostela, it already ratified its confidence in the current three mayors of the three provinces of the Valencian Community: Barcala, Carrasco, and, of course, María José Catalá.

Although one cannot speak of risky bets by the PSPV, the truth is that the Valencian socialists have bet on significant renewal that will also take place in municipalities where the socialists govern such as Alcoi, Dénia, and very likely Quart de Poblet, where the strong local group is divided between supporters of the current mayor and her predecessor in office.
