Not 24 hours. The new mural that urban artist TVboy had drawn in Joanic square of Ferran Torres kissing the World Cup —just covering his also drawing of Leo Messi with the Barça shirt and the message “Barcelona, I’ll be back,” painted in December— has been vandalized.

The artist himself has shared a video on his social media in which a group of hooded figures paint the facade white and, over what was previously Ferran Torres’s face, they have written “Puta España” (Fuck Spain). TVboy has also shared the messages he has received on his Instagram account and states that they will not intimidate him and that he will continue drawing.
The mural showed the Valencian forward from F.C. Barcelona kissing the trophy dressed in the national team’s shirt. It is placed in front of a kiosk and right next to another by the same artist featuring Rosalía and an image in which the graffiti artist has self-portrayed with his face covered, reminding, despite the obvious difference in style and message, that “I am not Banksy.”
The artist has published his work on Instagram and explained an anecdote while painting it: “A girl passed by and shouted: ‘Mom, it’s Ferran Torres!’. I smiled. That’s when I understood that art also connects generations.”

TVboy has thus replaced the mural he painted of the Argentine star dressed in blaugrana last December 1st. The work was carried out with the support of the newspaper Mundo Deportivo, paying homage to the player after statements about his future following his fleeting visit to the Camp Nou, which is under construction.
Rosalía’s mural appeared right next to it two weeks later, on December 18th. It features the artist from Sant Esteve de Sesrovires dressed as a saint.
