Urban artist TVboy has replaced his previous mural of Leo Messi in a Barça shirt with the message “Barcelona, I’ll be back” in Plaça Joanic in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighborhood with another of Ferran Torres kissing the World Cup under the English message “Making history” alongside two stars, symbolizing the Spanish national team’s second World Cup victory after their win against Argentina last Sunday.

The tribute, however, lasted less than 24 hours intact. The drawing appeared vandalized this Wednesday morning, painted white and with “Puta España” written on it.
The mural shows the Valencian forward from F.C. Barcelona kissing the trophy, dressed in the national team’s shirt. It is placed in front of a kiosk and right next to another by the same artist featuring Rosalía and an image in which the graffiti artist has self-portrayed with his face covered, reminding, despite the evident difference in style and message, that “I am not Banksy”.
The artist published his work on Instagram and shared an anecdote while painting it: “A girl passed by and shouted: ‘Mom, it’s Ferran Torres!’. I smiled. That’s when I understood that art also connects generations.”

TVboy thus replaced the mural he painted of the Argentine star dressed in blaugrana on December 1st. The work was created with the support of the newspaper Mundo Deportivo, paying homage to the player after statements about his future following his fleeting visit to the Camp Nou, which was under construction.
The Rosalía mural appeared right next to it two weeks later, on December 18th. It features the artist from Sant Esteve de Sesrovires dressed as a saint.
