The Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Valencia requests a fine of 3,000 euros for a young man for writing insulting messages on social media in April 2025, six months after the flood, against the then president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón.

The message, dated April 7 of that year, said: “what you are is a scoundrel and a bastard, 200 students were waiting for you outside and you only know how to call the police to protect you. You are a coward, you were on October 29 and you are now. The gallows await you and we will tie it to your traitorous neck.”

For the Prosecutor’s Office, this message published openly on the social network “X” constitutes a crime of insults against authority for which a 21-year-old young man is responsible as the author, according to information provided to EFE by this body.

The request for the penalty of a fine of ten months with daily quotas of 10 euros is included in the provisional conclusions of the Prosecutor’s Office in an abbreviated procedure followed in the Instruction Section of the Valencia Plaza 21 Court of First Instance.

The Prosecutor’s Office requests the interrogation of the accused and the testimony of two national police officers, according to the document dated May 21 of this year.
