The abused baby in Barcelona did not have serious injuries 3 days before being admitted to the ICU

The pediatrician at a CAP in Barcelona who attended the 6-week-old baby whose parents are being investigated as alleged perpetrators of serious injuries and assault with penetration assures that the little one did not have serious injuries on March 13, three days before being admitted to the Vall d’Hebron ICU and protocols for abuse were activated, judicial sources explained to Europa Press.

This was recounted this Thursday before the Judge of Violence against Children and Adolescents in Barcelona, where the CAP nurse also testified, as well as the radiologist and traumatologist from Vall d’Hebron hospital.

The same sources explained that both the pediatrician and the nurse confirmed not having seen the serious anal injuries on the day of the visit, a statement they confirmed after seeing a photograph this Thursday during the hearing, so the wounds occurred between the visit to the medical center and the hospitalization.

The CAP doctors also explained that the child was attended on March 10 during the monthly check-up, during which they detected various bruises on the scrotum and referred the little one to Sant Pau Hospital.

After obtaining the results and seeing “nothing unusual,” the pediatrician called the parents again on March 13, the last medical contact until the subsequent ICU admission.

The same sources recounted that the radiologist and traumatologist stated that “they had never seen such serious injuries,” a statement that Vall d’Hebron doctors had already declared before the judge previously.

The case instruction is scheduled to continue this Friday with statements from doctors at Sant Pau hospital, and the baby’s mother will testify next Thursday after having requested it.
