Around 10:20 PM, Civil Protection reported the evacuation of about a hundred passengers traveling on the broken-down train. In addition, alternative road transport has been enabled between Figueres Vilafant and Girona stations, and Barcelona-Sants.
The incident affects a long-distance train covering the route between Figueres and Madrid, which has stopped between the Mollet bifurcation and La Sagrera due to a breakdown in the pantograph or catenary. Adif has indicated that the second track is closed for works, which prevents alternative circulation.
