In Spain, more than 30% of people over 65 have hearing loss. However, many of them take more than eight years to seek a solution, which limits their opportunities to socialize, participate in daily activities, and maintain an active social life.

Untreated hearing loss remains one of the most invisible health realities in our society. Despite its high prevalence, it continues to be surrounded by prejudices, misinformation, and emotional barriers that delay diagnosis and treatment. In this context, Aural Centros Auditivos actively works to make hearing loss visible, normalize it, and destigmatize it, promoting initiatives that connect health, culture, sports, and education.
Aural participates in one of the most demanding cycling competitions in the world, the Škoda Titan Desert
The stigma associated with hearing loss not only affects the ability to hear, but also emotional well-being, self-esteem, and social relationships. Even today, many people wrongly associate it with age or dependence, when it can appear at any stage of life. For this reason, Aural advocates a clear message: hearing well is living better, and treating hearing loss means regaining connection, confidence, and quality of life.
Social commitment
Among Aural’s most notable initiatives is its participation in the Škoda Titan Desert, one of the most demanding mountain biking competitions in the world. Through this sporting challenge, the company conveys values of effort, overcoming, and leadership, demonstrating that good hearing is key to facing any personal and professional challenge.
This commitment is reinforced by Aural’s solidarity truck, an initiative that travels through different territories bringing hearing health closer to the population. Through hearing screenings, information, and professional support, the project contributes to raising awareness about the importance of caring for hearing, especially in groups with less access to these services.
Life sounds good
Aural has also launched the videopodcast Life sounds good, a space where hearing health is discussed, and how to improve people’s lives through hearing, with the humanist and communicator María de León, who has been an Aural patient for more than ten years.
Aural has also taken its message to spaces where hearing health is not traditionally discussed, such as the fashion world. Its collaboration with designer Baro Lucas at Madrid Fashion Week marked a milestone in the normalization of hearing loss. The designer himself lives with hearing loss, a reality he decided to make visible naturally and assertively through his show. During the runway, models walked with hearing aids, integrating them as another element of the styling and creative concept. An action that broke stereotypes and demonstrated that hearing aids do not detract from identity or style, but rather are part of people’s diversity. With this initiative, Aural managed to place hearing at the center of cultural conversation and connect with new generations from an inclusive and brave approach.
The normalization of hearing loss begins at an early age. For this reason, Aural has developed the pediatric stories My new friend Auri and Auri and the magic of listening, two stories that help children understand hearing, the use of hearing aids, and functional diversity in a close and positive way.
These stories have become a key tool for families and educators, fostering empathy, respect, and acceptance from childhood, and preventing stigma from consolidating in later stages of life.

Hearing excellence
Beyond audiological adaptation, since its foundation in 1966, the philosophy of Aural Centros Auditivos seeks to empower people with hearing loss by promoting their autonomy and the normalization of hearing aid use. The company, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, remains firm in its legacy, advocating a comprehensive approach that not only improves hearing but also promotes a full, active, and socially connected life.
Aural also stands out for the professional excellence and human quality of its team, made up of highly qualified professionals who accompany each person in a close, honest, and personalized way. Because behind every diagnosis there is a story, and behind every hearing plan, a professional committed to improving lives.
With this long-term vision, Aural Centros Auditivos reaffirms its commitment to hearing health and to a society where hearing well is natural, visible, and free of prejudice.
