The expert hired by the defense in the Andic case, Francisco Marco, from the Método 3 agency, has defended on El Món at Rac1 that the case against Jonathan Andic for the death of Isak Andic is flawed due to the insistence of a Mossos d’Esquadra officer on presenting evidence that Marco considers fabricated. Before Jordi Basté, he provided data that refutes the evidence made public so far: the footprint on the mountain, the manner of the fall, the relationship between Isak Andic and his son, or the loss of the phone in Quito.

Regarding the latter, Marco explained that “it cannot be said that Jonathan Andic’s phone was not in Quito when it actually was.” As proof, he showed Basté a document that records connections and calls from March 25 from that phone associated with Mundo Ecuador roaming, which supports that the phone did not stay in Spain, but went to Quito.
Marco explained that his argument was not “an attack on the Mossos d’Esquadra, the best police in Spain,” but the revelation that an officer of the force — “a sergeant” — has started “a manhunt.”
“That footprint [of Andic on the mountain] cannot be used because its chain of custody is absurd,” denounces Marco
“When Jonathan Andic was calling 112, two hikers appeared. They found a devastated Jonathan, trying to reach Isak Andic. They say: ‘if he was faking, he is the best actor in the world.’ One of the hikers interacts with 112 and a missed call is made from Jonathan’s phone to have his contact,” Marco explained. According to the detective and writer, two months later the Mossos sergeant considered that witness “not important.” To that officer, Marco points out, “he doesn’t give a damn about what happened on the mountain, he is convinced that Jonathan Andic is guilty.”
Regarding the footprint of Andic at the point where the fall was recorded, Marco stated that a photo shows “a Mossos officer who has his foot in front of the footprint.” “That footprint cannot be used because its chain of custody is absurd,” he insisted. And he added: “It is impossible to prove if that footprint belongs to that person or not, they put it just in case.”
Marco also explained the reason for the delay in the release of the images of Andic’s previous fall published today by La Vanguardia. According to Marco, Jonathan Andic’s defense team had to convince him to do it because he did not want to release images “that show his father’s weakness.” He did not want to do it, Marco insisted, “not even to save himself,” which reflects the good relationship between father and son.

“Anyone can have a bad father-son relationship,” he qualified, adding: “Can anyone think that Andic’s two daughters would defend their brother if they believed he was guilty?”
“This case is a joke,” Marco reiterated, who anticipated that the defense will “have to request an audit of this case.” Marco considers that the case is biased because “a substitute judge who has been fed information for months,” and accused that a Mossos officer, sergeant, “can invent evidence, falsify others, and bring him in handcuffs,” generating a “social condemnation.”
